About

The Post-AI Posts is a series of transmedia publications unfolding as both manifesto and artwork. Written with and in counterpoint to the machine, they ask:

What can we become through being-with AI?

Post-AI does not mean after AI any more than postwar means there are no more international conflicts. It names a condition we already inhabit: AI is entangled with our language, labor, institutions, infrastructures, environments, and imaginations. The Posts explore that condition through writing, software, images, scores, performances, objects, and exchanges.

Relations are their medium.

The Post-AI Posts unfold from September 2026–March 2028: eighteen months of attention during a moment of accelerated releases, consolidation, and claims about what AI can and should (not) do.

Eighteen months is the frame, not an endpoint. It is brief in human time, a blip in geological time, but long given how quickly these systems transform and reorganize relations, materials, and imaginations. The Posts resist mistaking AI’s pace for ours.

How the site works

The monthly Posts present an artwork, experiment, or larger proposition. Each is a distinct work and another part of the ongoing project.

Weekly Between Posts are shorter writings following the work as it develops. These arein-progress reflections and experiments: thinking -through and -with. They may document an exchange with AI, expand on or test an idea from the manifesto, publish a score, linger with an error, or respond to something that happened between one message and the next.

The manifesto is the project’s first monthly Post and its provisional ground. Provisional matters. That writing will encounter artworks, readers, technologies, arguments, and events that may change its terms.

The archive records that movement.

Writing with AI

AI participates in the drafting and revision of these texts. It proposes language, repeats itself, surprises, narrows, misreads, and occasionally produces something worth following. I (hi there. I’m Nathaniel Stern) add, cut, redirect, argue, leave, return, and decide what is published.

The exchange is part of the material.

So is everything the transcript leaves out: bodies, interruptions, conversations, weather, work, distraction, pleasure, and whatever happens while the screen is waiting.

I remain responsible for the claims and artistic decisions published here.

Monthly updates

You can receive an email when each new monthly Post goes live. I post these myself, time allowing. No weekly inbox parade. No algorithmic feed to keep up with.

Responses and contact

There are no public comments to moderate here, but the work welcomes response.

Questions, disagreements, associations, provocations, and accounts of your own adventures with AI can be sent to nathaniel.stern@gmail.com

A response may shape what comes next. Although I might paraphrase, nothing you send will be quoted, published, or attributed without your permission.

The Posts are written from within an unfinished relation. You are invited to enter it.
